THE GUINNESS RECORDS BOOK HOLDERS AND THE OLDEST MONASTERY IN MOLDOVA

In the morning, we invite you to visit the Gallery of Collections Petru Costin that is a Museum of Socialism and Communism Era being the unique museum of its kind in Moldova preserving lots of communism and socialism artifacts like famous people statues, busts, sculptures, as well as hundreds of socialist, Soviet, communist flags gathered in the course of 45 years. Mileștii Mici Galleries – the largest underground wine cellar in Moldova having more than 200 km of limestone tunnels (of which cca 55 km is used for technological purposes), where in the depth of darkness are produced and stored the best wines of Mileștii Mici. We are inviting you to experience joy from the travel through the underground kingdom and to get acquainted with the national heritage of the Republic of Moldova and the holder of the Guinness World Record for the biggest wine collection.

In 2005 it was qualified by the Guinness World Records as the largest collection of wines in the world. This is absolutely an impressive place with about 1.5 million bottles of wine, deposited at 80 meters underground, that lie right there, covered with dust and mold, in small elegant houses which are completed every year. The oldest wine dates from 1969.

Next stop will be Capriana monastery that is considered the oldest one in Moldova and is located in a beautiful area of Codrii forests. Legend tells that it was founded by the great voivode of Moldova, Stephen the Great. Closed and dilapidated during the post-war period, it was only reopened again in 1989, becoming a symbol of national revival.
