Mimi Castle– founded in 1893 by the last governor of Bessarabia, Constantin Mimi- is reopening its doors to the public after a century of silence. Mimi Castle is located in the Bulboaca region, Anenii Noi. It is only 35 km away from Chisinau. The real beauty of the castle has been hidden for many years under a layer of concrete and it is finally open for public since 17 september 2016.

Bessarabia had the biggest vineyards from all Russian “guberniyas”, and as a result became the main wine exporter for Russian Empire. Constantin Mimi has contributed to modernization of bessarabian viticulture- he has planted new European variety which are more productive and more resistant to diseases such as Aligote variety.
