Cultural Tour Moldova, Odessa, Transnistria


Day 1 Visit Ukraine: Odessa

Today, you’re going to see one of the most beautiful Black Sea region cities. You’re welcome to Odessa – a pearl of the Black Sea. Short familiarity with Odessa: we’ll see, first, the Vorontzov palace and the Potemkin steps, then, walk to the Primorsky Bouleward, and, finally, walk around the Opera House and finish at the Passazh (3 h).

Day 2 Cultural Tour Odessa 


It’s going to be a cultural day. We’ll take you, first, to Fine Arts Museum-Potocki Palace and, later, to Literature Museum-Count Gagarin Mansion. The Fine Arts Museum is known for housing more than 10 thousand pieces of art, including paintings by some of the best-known Russian and Ukrainian artists of late 19th and early 20th.

Day 3 Cultural Tour Transnistria: Tiraspol

In the morning, we’ll say good-bye to Odessa and, take our way to Moldova.

You’ll, finally, get to Transnistria, and spend one night in Tiraspol-city of the country that, actually, doesn’t exist.

So, as soon as you cross the border, we’ll take you to Purcari winery for a wine and gastronomic tour.

Afterwards, we’ll drive to Transnistria, that is to say unrecognized independent republic.

We’ll show you around the city and will, surely, tell you interesting facts about the country within another country borders. Finally, discover Soviet time relics, like Lenin statues, which are everywhere in Transnistria.

Day 4 Cultural Tour Moldova: Chisinau

In the morning, before driving to Chisinau, we’ll visit the Turkish fortress dating back to 16th c.

During the excursion in the fortress complex, we’ll also show you the History Museum in the gunpowder cellar,  Museum of medieval torture instruments, Memorial site of the Baron Munhausen, and Pantheon of Russian Glory, inclusively.  The first documentary mention of the Tighina fortress was in the 15th c.. The area along the river Dniestr had some trade factories, that was later expended by the Moldavian principality.  As a result, some new fortifications were made out of the wood and ground. In the second half of the 15th c. the fortress was conqured, as noted before, by the Turkish Sultan Suleyman. Hence, on its place a new Turkish stone fortress was built.

Later, you’re expected to savor traditional meal in Chisinau-the capital of Moldova. And finally, proceed for a City Tour Chisinau with visits to the Souvenirs’ Fair and to the History Museum in Chisinau.

Day 5 Cultural  Tour Moldova: Cricova Winery-Orhei Vechi -Curchi monastery

Today, we’ll visit Cricova famous wine-cellars and sample precious Cricova wines and sparkling wines. It’s important to note, that Cricova wine collection is very rich and diverse. The oldest wine being stored there, is “Jerusalem Easter Wine” from 1902.

We’ll, further, travel to Orhei region and visit unique cave monastery and open-air museum complex Orheiul Vechi (Old Orhei). We’ll, first, enjoy traditional meal at a local guest house in Butuceni, typical Moldavian village with old traditions.

Later, explore the open-air museum area, cave Orthodox monastery, and the local archeological museum. Follow to the ruins of the Turkish baths and to the Medieval fortress-town at the outskirts of the village Trebujeni. We’ll finish this tour by a short afternoon excursion in the orthodox monastery Curchi-a majestic monastic complex.

Day 6  North of Moldova: Soroca fortress, monument “The Candle of Gratitude”, “The Gypsy Hill”,  Chateau Vartely Winery.

This day, you’re going to explore the North of Moldova and enjoy a glass of good wine from a local winery.

So, you’ll meet the local historian who’ll reveal the secrets of Soroca fortress. It’s about the historical events that had taken place in the fortress. Interesting to know that the fortress had captured many dramatic events, like the invasions of the Tatars, Cossacks, Polish King Ian Sobesky troops, military actions of Bogdan Hmelnitskyi, as well as  an anti-Ottoman campaign of the Russian Monarch Peter the Great.

Further, we continue to the Gypsy Quarter with gorgeous mansions.

In the afternoon, we’ll look into the winery Chateau Vartely in Orhei town. It’s a touristic Complex placed on a hill, opening an astonishing view on the town Orhei and the vineyards. We’ll, finally, sample some wines and have pleasant dinner in a relaxing atmosphere.

Day 7 Cultural Tour: Milestii Mici Winery – Capriana monastery-Hincu monastery


Today, we’ll begin the tour with visits to the oldest monastery Capriana and the convent Hincu. You’ll admire beautiful landscapes on the way, as the monasteries lie in a very picturesque zone of the forest Codrii.

And finally, you’ll take a chance to see the biggest wine-cellars in the world like Milestii Mici. It boasts a collection of over 2 mil bootle of wine, and a result, it was included in the Guinees Records. Enjoy excellent wines followed by a light snack (Traditional Moldavian Pies) in this underground city of wines.

Transfer to airport. End of program.
